With a bit of luck, you might spot flamingos. I was able to take some nice photos of them.

The chapel is set in a well-kept garden with olive trees and a few tropical plants. At the time of our visit, the chapel was locked, but there is an open altar right at the entrance, perfect for prayer and relaxation away from the tourist crowds ☺️

View of the ruins of Paleo Pyli Castle. A magnificent view during the arduous climb.

Very long sandy beach with dunes, often very windy. This beach is ideal for kite surfing and walking. Great sunset with a view of the Turkish mainland.

Great hike with a wonderful view from the mountain village of Zia to the summit with a beautiful chapel below. The trail has an alpine character in places, so it's better to wear sturdy shoes and plan enough time (3-4 hours) as well as enough water (there are no springs etc.) and if necessary, take a jacket etc. in the off-season (cold wind up there)! Have fun 😊

Oh, my photo from the vacation. The hotel nearby was good, not a long walk to the beach. Also lots of places to eat nearby. With delicious food.

I spent some time here, but I didn't notice any smell of salt.
