The Treidelschifffahrt monument in Stürzelberg (Dormagen) is located on the central village square (Oberstraße). The bronze statue, inaugurated on May 1, 2001, depicts a bargeman, a horse, and the bow of a ship, and commemorates the historical transport of goods, during which cargo ships were pulled upstream on the Rhine.

Beautiful old town center. A walking path along the city wall and quaint alleyways in the city center. It's best to set off early if the weather is nice. The parking lot at the Rhine Gate quickly fills up around midday, and the outdoor seating areas of the restaurants and cafés are packed by 1 p.m.
