The listed parish church in the center of the village of Fiss is dedicated to John the Baptist; St. Sebastian was added later as a second patron saint. It was first mentioned in 1310, and between 1717 and 1719 it was enlarged to the east and redesigned in the Baroque style. On the outside, the late Gothic north tower with its curved spire and octagonal bell tower is striking, and the facade features Baroque murals and Stations of the Cross from around 1757. A special feature is a relic of the beatified martyr priest Otto Neururer, who also worked as a curate in Fiss. Around the church lies the cemetery – a quiet place for a short break in the village center. It is generally open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

It would actually be a beautiful little hike – along the stream with its magical bridges (there are even dog poop bags at the beginning of the route) – but unfortunately, they're supposed to distribute such bags to people too! We almost stepped in them five times! Disgusting!

Great place for a break. The lake was freezing cold, but apparently that didn't stop everyone from swimming 😂 Kneipp therapy was enough for us. The dogs had a blast, cooling off and letting off steam. All in all, it's worth stopping here.
