Esterházy Trail Enduro Line (Black)

Highlight (Segment) • MTB Park

At the end of the Esterhaźy Trail you have three different options for ending the trail. Each option is marked with a sign; both the degree of difficulty and the course of the trail. As I'm always looking for a challenge I chose the black line which in my opinion is no more than a red section. Here, however, in contrast to the previous trail, things really get down to business. The trail becomes very narrow and steep and is heavily exposed. There is one small stone drop after the other and the turns are fairly flat and tight. A mistake or a little uncertainty is definitely not a pleasant experience because, as described above, the trail is very exposed and tempts you to simply open the brakes. I can only recommend this to good bikers who feel safe on their bikes, because you really don't want to lay down pretzels here because then you'll fly for a relatively long time until you reach the ground or maybe you're lucky enough to be "caught" by a tree. Believe me when I write here that you don't want to get to know either of the two options. The part is relatively easy to master, even for beginners, but controlled braking is a prerequisite! I can only recommend this option to you and wish you a lot of fun!

Hutwisch Root Trail

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

The trail runs along the official MTB route "cardiovascular route" and starts right after the lookout tower at Hutwisch. Over a lot of roots it goes brisk up to intersection. The trail is a lot of fun! But beware, the trail is also heavily frequented by hikers. I would not classify the track as too difficult, assuming a certain experience with root descents. After rain, however, it will probably be much more difficult. However, I would recommend it for beginners only conditionally, as there are some passages that can be mastered only with the appropriate technology.

The Uphill North starts in Lockenhaus and leads, mostly along the official Gewrittenstein route, up the mountain to the trailheads. In the upper third, a part was newly built, which leads up over narrow, sometimes steep curves. The uphill requires a lot of fitness and stamina. You should plan 1.5 hours (organic)...

Shortly after the OberloisdorferKreuz, for the first time, you will ride racy downhill over a country lane. Since there are no rough challenges, you can do some speed here.

One of the many variants of the Esterhaźy Trail, but it is much more violent and requires a certain amount of skill.
