Full name of the monument: "To those who gave their lives to Poland 1939-1989". The monument was rebuilt after the end of the socialist system in Poland, supplementing the brick base with a stylized sculpture made of metal and expanding the list of victims to include the period of the so-called People's Republic of Poland. During this period (1944-1989), the socialist authorities proclaimed slogans of progress, equal rights, and the power of the working people of cities and villages, and quietly tortured and murdered their opponents who did not agree to the subordination of Poland to the Soviet Union, deprivation of private property, and harassment of the Church. According to the tourist definition, "a shortcut is a different route, not necessarily shorter". The shortcut in Tarnawa Dolna is not used to shorten the route, but to bypass the elevation that not everyone wants to climb. When the water level in the Kalniczka stream is low, there is no problem with crossing the ford. The slabs are evenly laid out. If the water level in the stream is higher, instead of crossing the ford, you can cross the bridge shown in the photo. On the other side, at the end of the shortcut there is a solid bridge. The surface is asphalt, apart from the ford covered with slabs and the access road by gravel. WW

The official name of the open-air museum is the Museum of Folk Architecture in Sanok (MBL). It covers a vast area on the right bank of the San River, limited from the north by a high escarpment, on which the Biała Góra housing estate is located, and from the east by the forested area of the Słonne Mountains. A great attraction is the Galician Market Square, where various occasional events are organized, e.g. before the holidays. The open-air museum lives according to its own calendar and is eagerly visited not only by tourists but also by the residents of Sanok. On the open-air museum area, divided into geographical and cultural sectors, you can visit many wooden buildings and see their equipment. The resourcefulness of the residents of that time, who were able to live and support their families in very modest conditions, without electricity, running water, gas and so many devices that we cannot imagine life without today, is admirable. The oil sector is a separate attraction. To get a better understanding of the range of objects gathered here, it is best to use the services of a guide. WW
