The castle is a bit of a misleading term, but the building is very nice and there is a cool restaurant in the courtyard.

In 2022, the insolvency administrator of Arrada sp. z o. o. Pod Fortem Sp. ka, the owner of the property, offered the palace for auction with a starting price of PLN 524,500. In July 2023, the property was acquired by private investors for approximately PLN 260,000. The new owners submitted a development plan for the palace, which was positively reviewed by the heritage officer of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. Since then, cleaning and restoration work has been underway, and the building is closed and secured.

This late Baroque, historic castle was built in the second half of the 18th century for the von Zobeltitz family. Originally a compact, rectangular building with a mansard roof, it was later expanded with side wings. The von Zobeltitz family coat of arms is displayed on the columns of the steel entrance gate. The castle complex, with adjacent agricultural land of almost 9.5 hectares, was offered for sale by the agricultural authority in 2016. The property also includes a remnant of a park dating from the 18th to the 20th century, a gate from the second half of the 18th century, and two outbuildings from the second half of the 18th century that were reconstructed at the beginning of the 20th century.

On the site of the palace, there already existed a defensive Renaissance castle from the turn of the 16th/17th century, likely built by Stanisław Wilkowski. In 1776, Samuel Mielęcki rebuilt it into a Baroque palace – a brick, two-story, rectangular-shaped structure with cylindrical towers at the front. Currently, it is privately owned and falls into increasing disrepair.

Beginnings (14th century): The original castle in Chobień was built in the first half of the 14th century, probably by Duke Henry IV the Faithful or his son Henry V the Iron. It was a Gothic defensive structure, strategically located on the left bank of the Oder, controlling the crossing. The Thirty Years' War (1618-1648) brought about the castle's decline. It was repeatedly occupied and destroyed by imperial and Swedish troops. After the war, despite attempts to rebuild it, the castle never regained its former glory.

The palace is fenced, inaccessible. You can only see what you can see from the street. Behind the palace there is a wild palace park.

The earlier stronghold was destroyed in 1343 by the troops of Casimir the Great, and a brick castle was built in its place, which belonged to the royal estate. The first mentions of Wschowa Castle come from the 14th century. After the partitions, the castle was largely destroyed. At the beginning of the 19th century, a prison was established on the castle's foundations. In the post-war years, until 1999, a clothing factory operated in the building. In 2000, the building was adapted into a hotel and restaurant called "Zamek Królewski".

The original Renaissance defensive seat in Jędrzychowice was built at the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries by Stanisław Wilkowski. On the initiative of Stanisław Mielęcki, the defensive complex called the "Red Róg" was rebuilt into a baroque palace. At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, the entire complex became the property of Karol Gilek - Bötzow, on whose initiative the palace was expanded in 1909-1910, adding a wing with a representative ballroom and two cylindrical towers to the baroque body. At the beginning of the 20th century, the estate became the property of the von Schlichting family, whose ancestors founded nearby Szlichtyngowa. The palace with its outbuildings is located in the western part, and the south-eastern part is occupied by a farm with farm buildings. A vast landscape park connects the palace from the north. Near the palace is the Gothic church of Blessed John of Dukla. The area of the manor complex was divided between various owners. The farm buildings and outbuildings are the property of the Osowa Sień Breeding Animal Breeding Company, and the palace and park were regained after many years by Sigrund von Schlichting, who undertook its reconstruction. Currently, part of the palace is restored and adapted to a hotel.
