The short version of the infamous Pea Royd Lane Hill Climb in Stocksbridge. The climb is a short one at just 0.7km but with an average gradient of 14%, maxing out at 17% it's not a climb to be taken lightly. However, the summit is worth the suffering. You climb out of the industrial town of Stockbridge, full of shops and traffic, and are immediately transported to the top of the world (or at least the highest point around). The views and potential cycling routes from the top and numerous and a fantastic taste of Yorkshire cycling at it's best.
