From here you have a great view of the Galician landscape.

With O Cebreiro you enter Galicia, breathe in the real mountain air and can happily tick off the last big mountain climb. From here, hilly Galicia is not without climbs, but none like this one... O Cebreiro itself is small, almost unspectacular and if you're unlucky, the old pilgrim church is also closed... But don't despair, this is just the beginning of Galicia's beauty....

Fabulous ancient hilltop village on the ridgeline at the top of the long climb into Galicia. Well worth stopping for a while to explore, or staying overnight just to enjoy the views at sunrise and sunset.

Quiet little farming village that you pass through with a bar/café if you need refreshing before you do the last climb to the Alto de San Roque

The village of O Cebreiro (El Cebrero) is at 1,330 meters above sea level and is the first stop on the Way of Saint James in Galicia. The picturesque mountain village is one of the typical small towns on the Camino de Santiago.

Quiet place where the Church of Santo Estevo de Liñares stands out.

The church is a very nice starting point and you are always happy when you finally get to the top and it is an experience to light a candle there in the church. There are also enough hostels and cafes in the town to continue catering.
