The café, with its beautiful trees, is located in the open air. It is a great place to go for a walk or a bike ride through the forest and past meadows and fields. The service is very friendly. The various cakes are a dream. If you love nature and peace and quiet, you should definitely visit Asendorf's Bauerdiele (café).

In the Schweinsheide between Bassum and Harpstedt, a telecommunication system for the military communication of the Wehrmacht was to be built on behalf of the Deutsche Reichspost (long wave radio system for submarines). A total of three radio towers were planned, which should be built on massive bunkered substructures. Construction began around 1939. However, since the need for the radio system was no longer classified as important, the project finally stopped in September 1941. Only one of the bunkers had been structurally completed by then, but the technical equipment was no longer installed. The two other towers were only completed up to the base plate. more information on the net at: relict.com; funkamateur.de/nachrichtendetails/items/laengstwellen-bassum.html

A relic from the last war. A telecommunications system was planned here, but it was never completed. Now it is slowly rotting at the edge of the forest.

On the edge of Beckeln lies this small restaurant. There are delicious cakes as well as breakfast and a small lunch menu. Groups are specially addressed. Very friendly and recommended. Especially the places in the large garden are very nice.
