Tips from the Community

Hans-Peter & Heidrun
May 22, 2026, Floating House on Partwitzer See

The Partwitz Lake impresses with its turquoise-blue, clear water and soft sandy beach sections for swimming and relaxing. The lake is already affectionately called the "little Caribbean of Lusatia" by visitors and those seeking relaxation. A holiday home settlement is being created in this unique location. In the first construction phase of Aqua Terra Lausitz, which connects directly to the future harbor, two-story houses with a size of 65 or 78 square meters will be built. These houses are designed for year-round use. Vehicles can be parked directly next to the house. Due to the terracing and the south-west orientation of the large glass surfaces, there is a unique lake view with the most beautiful sunsets in Saxony.

Around Partwitzer See you will occasionally find access to the water with small bathing spots like this one. So it's worth packing a towel and swimwear!

These trees have since been removed. Presumably as part of the lake clearance and planned opening of the various lake crossings in summer 2026.

Cormorants nest here, and then the trees are white...

ADAC Bike Service Station at Partwitzer See – practical and truly helpful when the tire goes flat. The only question is: How long will this stay intact before vandalism strikes faster than a bicycle pump?

An ideal starting point for a cycling tour around the lake. A clean parking lot (for cars and RVs) with restrooms and washing facilities. A well-maintained playground for the little ones, and in my case, even a food truck, is available. The site is scheduled to be further expanded in 2026, and the adjacent beach is scheduled to open. Highly recommended!
