Beautiful path rich in history. Very well maintained with signs describing the details of the most evocative stretches.

The path climbs the ridge of the Costa region, first skirting villas and then crossing partially abandoned olive groves, and is enriched by the presence of several carob trees (a splendid specimen is located above the gate of number 18). Along the coastline, the Alassio pier is beautifully displayed, but when the panorama becomes more open, the view also encompasses the island of Gallinara, the “Stella Maris” chapel dedicated to the fallen at sea, the church of Solva, and the overlying Mount Bignone.

Laigueglia and Alassio are connected by a beautiful seafront promenade, recommended for its short length and the view it offers of the Baia del Sole.

The Church of Santa Croce in Alassio, located on a panoramic hill, was built in the 11th century by Benedictine monks from Gallinara Island in Romanesque style. Characterized by its original apse and a 16th-century portico, the structure lay in ruins for centuries before being restored between the 1950s and 1970s.
