A very idyllic spot away from the busy Erlenstegenstraße. From here, the path continues towards Kohlbuck and the forest.

Erlenstegen Bahnhof is the perfect trailhead. You can reach it by train (RB 30) from Nürnberg Hbf/Lauf r.d.P. hourly or by Tram 8 at least every 20 minutes. You can even park your car here. From here you can hike Sebalder Reichswald, follow the historic Ringbahn to Nordostbahnhof (U2) or hike the Pegnitz upstream or downstream to another VGN station - just to name a few. Enjoy it day or night!

… follow the historic Ringbahn from the junction to the Bayerische Staatsbahn between Erlenstegen and Behringersdorf to Nordostbahnhof. It is surprising to see how much of the historic infrastructure is to be seen yet, in particular huge bridges in the middle of the woods!
