Text. Information board: The Roman road embankment of the "Agrippa Road" near Dahlem runs through the forest along the ridge line between the so-called Heidenköpfe and is still preserved today as an approximately 2.7 km long, clearly recognizable earth dam. It is a section of the Agrippa Road, one of the oldest and most important supra-regional roads in the northwestern Roman Empire. It connected the two important provincial capitals of Cologne (Colonia Claudia Ara Agrippinensium) and Trier (Augusta Treverorum) and represented a central traffic axis for the military, administration, and trade. The preserved section in the Dahlem forest shows the course of the Roman route in the terrain and is part of today's hiking trail network, including in the area of the Moorpfad (Moor Trail) and in connection with other regional routes.

The tour described here is relatively uninteresting, except for the part through the moor. Except for the Mill Trail, it's only gravel farm roads, and the initial moor trail is about 3 km uphill. The designated "train station" location is completely out of the question! There's one regular parking space and one disabled parking space! You can only exit by reversing! Parking is available in designated parking spaces in front of the Volksbanj.

A beautiful little moorland path, from which various circular trails begin. There is a parking lot right next to the moorland path.
