Druridge Bay Country Park is a popular location for water sports in the lake, dog walkers and ramblers and people walking. Many families tend to be here t the weekends. The photo is taken at a rest area over looking the beach and sea, there are benches here and the views are very good, you can see up and down the bay area. Nice sandy beaches always have many people walking along them

It is surprising to find these underpasses which have tracks leading to them. Despite living local to these I had not known they were there. There are also houses and farm roads that we never tend to see.

Felton town centre is quite nice, there are two bridges, war memorials, outside seating at a cafe, post office, several arts & activity centres

Once the spoil tip for nearby coal mines, this area is now a nature reserve with a large artificial lake. It's a great place for a walk either as part of a longer loop or as a gentle stroll just around the lake. Popular with families and dog walkers.

Each coal shaft would have had two of these wheels at its head, one for the down cable and one for the up. The workers and materials travelled up and down the same shafts, sometimes at the same time. This wheel was used at the Ashington Colliery, it's now a statue and a memorial of the industry.
