T-Warf is one of the most iconic places in Rockport, if not all of Cape Ann. From here, across the moored boats, you can see the world-famous Motif Number 1, a replica of a former fishing shack well known to students of art and art history as "the most often-painted building in America." This iconic red building at the end of Rockport Harbor adorned in buoys is a classic New England maritime scene and a must-photograph for any visitor to Rockport.

This is a popular beach with very limited parking. You enter via a neighborhood which is why I normally bike it. Long beach is a popular name - Nahant Beach is also called Long Beach and York Maine has Long Sands Beach

The picture above is at low tide. At high tide this beach would just be stones. I've never swam here but it looks rocky. Long beach next door is a better option although it's much busier. Even on perfect beach days I haven't seen many people here

High Rock is a short hill (108 feet tall) hill in the Rockport South Woods. Although there are trees at the summit, you can still get nice views through them of the area from here. Around High Rock are many smooth-looking, granite rocks, many of which have bouldering (technical rock climbing, but at low enough heights where you do not need ropes) problems on them. Even if you are not a climber, it is fun to watch climbers attempt to get to the top!

The Rockport South Woods is a large swath of protected lands in the center of Rockport. There are popular hiking, running, and mountain biking trails through this attractive forests. Believe it or not, the South Woods are also a very popular rock climbing spot; there are large granite boulders strewn about, which also speak to Rockport's history as a granite quarry town.

Escape the crowds at Cape Hedge Beach; this beach provides a peaceful retreat for those seeking respite from the summertime crowds in a beautiful New England setting. There is limited parking, but if you are able to find a spot, carpool, or walk, Cape Hedge Beach is a pristine spot where you can take in sweeping views of the Atlantic. Keep in mind that there are no facilities nor lifeguards on duty at this beach. You can also walk to the popular Long Beach from here, which makes an excellent afternoon out.
