Scott
April 18, 2026, Stamp Falls Trail

This easy, well-marked path leads you through a forest of tall cedar and fir trees to a beautiful waterfall. The most interesting thing you can see here happens in the late summer and autumn. If you look down into the river from the viewing platforms, you will see thousands of salmon swimming upstream.

April 17, 2026, View of Stamp River

You can watch salmon leap over the waterfalls or use the special "fish ladder" built into the rocks to help them reach their spawning grounds. It is an amazing sight to see so many fish jumping through the white water at once.

The Kennedy River is your constant companion here. Every year, Pacific salmon return here to spawn, bringing life from the ocean back into the forest.

December 17, 2025, Hole-in-the-Wall

Hole-in-the-Wall is a small but unique natural waterfall. The waterfall gets its name from a literal hole in the wall, creating a “keyhole” effect that’s especially exciting after rain or during spring runoff. Mossy rock walls, ferns, and dense coastal forest surround this waterfall.

This wooden suspension bridge spans Rogers Creek. It is wide enough for one person and has simple ropes as guardrails.

Rock hop across Rogers Creek, there is no bridge, but a little balance and trekking poles can help you a lot. If there has been recent rain, consider bringing water shoes; you will cross the river twice here.

October 22, 2025, China Creek Trailhead

China Creek Trailhead sits at a pull-off along Bamfield Main, identifiable by a yellow gate and a small trail sign that can be easy to miss if you’re not watching for it. Parking is limited, and there are no facilities available, so be sure to come prepared. Access is free, but the trailhead is on an active logging road, so it’s best to go on weekends when operations are paused. As you set off from the trailhead, the path quickly immerses you in a lush coastal forest, following China Creek upstream toward the falls.

October 22, 2025, China Creek Trail

This trail is a relatively short path that climbs through mossy forest along China Creek, with ropes to assist on the final descent to the beautiful China Creek Falls. Expect slippery rocks and roots, but the reward comes quickly, as it typically takes just under an hour to complete the trek.
