The highlight in Upspring, the highest waterfall. Candidate for UNESCO cultural heritage, an impressive 13.35 cm high and an impressive 175 cm wide. Due to the immense water flow, swimming is strictly prohibited here for safety reasons!

When we were there in August there wasn't much to see of the waterfall, everything was overgrown, we will hike there again in autumn/winter.

We imagined water cascades and were initially disappointed by the waterfall. However, it is a nicely done gag that should be taken along

It doesn't get any better than HAm described - the entire 2 km long section is pure adventure, but please be careful - it's not entirely safe either, as it's partly steep on greasy ground and - even worse - steep goes down.

There is no longer a bridge here. On hot days you can enjoy cooling off here. The path down is not easy to walk. You definitely have to be sure-footed and wear good shoes.

The Lone falls down a good 13cm high heel! In Urspring this is signposted as a waterfall. The designation was probably made out of a beer mood, after all the outflow of the creek is given here with 2.5 half/second. Hopefully the beer consumption wasn't that great when the idea came up.

Seven Bridges Way: Hidden path, not easy to walk on, especially after rain, which is no longer maintained and is probably only maintained as a beaten path by individual hikers. Partly very muddy; the bridges, with the exception of one footbridge, are virtually non-existent or unusable. You have to shimmy down and back up the steep slopes at the ditches yourself. In some places the path can hardly be seen anymore, parts have slipped away. Absolutely sure-footedness required, if you like it a bit adventurous, you will like it 😁 Hiking sticks are helpful. If you can enjoy that, you can expect a wonderful expedition through a small jungle, at the end with crossing a ford, in which at least the shoes can be cleaned a bit again 😃😉

The most popular waterfall is the Autal Waterfall, known for its serene environment within the Autal Nature Reserve. Another highly regarded spot is the Moss-Covered Tufa Rocks and Springs, which features unique tufa formations and small watercourses.
Yes, the Waterfall at Teufelbach in Teufelsloch-Kaltenwang offers a challenging 2-kilometer gorge trail. This section requires sure-footedness and appropriate footwear due to steep, potentially slippery terrain, and less maintained paths with absent or unusable bridges.
The Autal Waterfall is particularly picturesque during the blooming of snowdrops (Märzenbecherblüte), typically in early spring. However, the region's waterfalls, fed by karst springs, offer beauty throughout the year, with varying water levels impacting their appearance.
While some trails can be challenging, the Urspring Waterfall is categorized as family-friendly. It's a modest waterfall, but the surrounding area can still offer a pleasant walk for families.
You'll encounter unique geological formations such as moss-covered tufa rocks, which are created by effervescent karst springs. The Autal Nature Reserve, home to the Autal Waterfall, is characterized by karst springs, gorges, and ravines, offering a diverse natural environment.
Yes, the water feeding the Autal Waterfall originates from the Brunnensteighöhle (cave). The first 130 meters of this nearly 900-meter-long cave are accessible, though parts can be narrow and low. You can stand in the entrance area, but further exploration requires experience and specialized equipment.
Absolutely. Many hiking routes incorporate the waterfalls. For example, the "Märzenbechertraum im Autal" trail is popular, especially during snowdrop season. You can find various waterfall hikes, including moderate and easy options, on the Waterfall hikes around Bad Überkingen guide.
