February 9, 2024, West Wharf Beach

This might be a dead end, but if you are looking for a scenic place to take a seafront break, this might just be it. West Wharf is a small beach with lovely views across to Tuxis Island and Gull Rock. You might see people fishing off the end of the wharf, or even clamming and oystering.

Lake Hammonasset is a 243-acre reservoir run and managed by the RWA. There are lots of trails on the same property that circle around the lake. Since there are so many miles of trails around the reservoir, you're likely to experience a fair bit of solitude when running out here.
