Cuttyhunk Brook Preserve is a small nature reserve that plays host to a few trails near a small stream, all situated on the property of an old homestead.

November 29, 2023, Hell's Half Acre

The New London Turnpike Road was an important piece of infrastructure when it opened in 1821 linking New York with Providence. Small settlements sprang up along the unpaved road to cater for the needs of travellers, but when it fell into disuse, the villages went the same way. That is except for Hell's Half Acre, a place full of taverns, sex workers, violence and murder. All that remains today are the foundations of the village and it is strange to think that this quiet, tree lined stretch of road had quite such a history.
