To see the 15th-century church up close, you have to climb about 250 steps. And you will be rewarded with a view of the village and the volcanic crater landscape. 😄

From a lofty height, next to the Prophet Elias Church, you have the most beautiful view of the small town of Nikia and its surroundings.

The Stefanos crater is still active today and emits hot sulphurous fumes. However, you have to make a real effort to see it. Basically, you can't see anything, and it doesn't bubble. But you can smell it 🦨 The descent only takes about 10 minutes and can be done in sandals. It's very impressive to walk right in the crater!

It smells a lot of sulphur here, but it is interesting to walk on a steaming volcano.
