An interesting design for a yaw ferry: it doesn't "hang" from buoys like the ferries in Magdeburg or Coswig, but instead runs on two steel cables with pulleys on a steel cable stretched across the Vistula. Everything else is done by the rudder adjustment on the ferry and, of course, the current of the Vistula. The ferry glides along silently...

What a beautiful, well-preserved Renaissance castle. It's often called a little Wawel Castle because the arcaded courtyard is reminiscent of the world-famous Royal Castle in Kraków. The rooms can only be visited with a guided tour. These tours, however, are available hourly. We were provided with 70 minutes of information by a particularly enthusiastic guide. Wonderful!

The Royal Castle in Sandomierz is one of the most important historical buildings in the city, located on a slope above the Vistula River. It was built in the 14th century on the initiative of Casimir the Great and for centuries served as a royal residence and the seat of starosts. In the 17th century it was partially destroyed by the Swedes and later transformed into a prison, which operated until the 1950s. Currently, it houses the District Museum, where you can see exhibitions on the history of Sandomierz, art and archaeology. From the castle hill there is a beautiful view of the Vistula and the city, which makes this place an attractive point on the tourist route.
