La Foce dell'Ombrone (also known as Bocca d'Ombrone) is the point where the Ombrone river, the second longest watercourse in Tuscany (160 km), flows into the Tyrrhenian Sea in a cuspate delta. This protected and wild natural environment is located in the province of Grosseto, entirely enclosed within the evocative Maremma Regional Park. The area represents one of the most important examples of a coastal wetland in the region, characterized by a unique landscape where pristine beaches, sandy dunes, historic marshes (such as the Paludi della Trappola), and ancient pine forests merge together. The landscape of the estuary is famous for the gnarled trunks, bleached by the sun and salt, accumulated along the shoreline, as well as for the frequent presence of semi-wild herds of Maremma cattle and horses led by the typical butteri (cowboys).

The Pineta della Feniglia trail is the main cycle-pedestrian path that entirely crosses the Duna Feniglia Natural Reserve. It is a flat strip of land (called a "tombolo") about 6-7 kilometers long that connects the mainland (Ansedonia) to Monte Argentario (Porto Ercole), separating the Tyrrhenian Sea from the Orbetello Lagoon.

It is about 5-6 km long up to the village, with maximum gradients reaching 13-15% in some stretches within the cork oak and chestnut woods.
