In addition to knights' families, various dukes also lived in the Tralau complex. The current Traulau manor house was not built until 1890. During the Second World War, the house was temporarily used as refugee accommodation and later as a retirement home. The estate was divided into plots and reduced in size several times in the post-war period.
To this day, however, the Tralau manor house is privately owned. The playful and picturesque exterior also secretly makes the manor house a castle. The surrounding gardens were created in the English style and are interspersed with bodies of water and groups of trees. This design gives Tralau Castle its romantic overall setting.
