For us, it was not just the bench at the Zamer ski hut that was unforgettable, but also the hut itself. When we checked in for €10 more per person, we got a room upgrade with our own toilet and shower. The food in the evening was simply delicious, the hut was perfect, the hut owner and his son are super friendly and help with all questions. I can only recommend using the laundry service.

The Zams ski hut is one of the five known overnight accommodation options on the E5. With 70 beds in 9 shared rooms and a camp, it is the smallest overnight accommodation option on the E5. Advance booking is therefore highly recommended. There is WiFi, a laundry service and warm showers, but not quite the traditional hut feeling. In the evening there is a buffet, mostly cheese spaetzle and salad. If you can no longer find accommodation at the Zams ski hut, you should try the Zamer Alm, just 500m away. There is also camp and dinner / breakfast. From Zams, the ascent on foot to the Zams ski hut is about 3 hours. Attention: If you want to make the ascent easier by taking the mountain railway. The Venet mountain railways will remain closed in summer 2024. As a replacement, hiking buses to the Zammer Alm and Zams ski hut will be offered from June 2nd, 2024. Current information at www.venet.at Hiking bus to Zammer Alm/Zams ski hut Departure: Venet cable car valley station 8:15 a.m. / 10:00 a.m. / 2:00 p.m. / 4:00 p.m. / 5:00 p.m. (Cost: €15) If you stay overnight in the Zams ski hut and haven't made it to the valley station by 5:00 p.m., you can call the hut on T +43 (0) 5442 / 61 300 and ask about the shuttle service to the hut for €20 per person for two or more people.

If the Zams ski hut is fully booked, you can also stay overnight and dine at the Zamer Alm, which is less than 500m away.

From the Zams ski hut you have a wonderful view over the Inn Valley and the mountains behind it. I think you could also see the Seescharte from there, which you passed through in the morning.
