Over the top of the children's playground you can see the ruins of the Church of Ireland Monivea. Consecrated in 1769, all that remains today is the belltower. The roof of the church collapsed in 1955 after it fell out of use in the 1920s. You can see the way that nature is overtaking the church with greenery peaking out from the top of the tower and the windows.

Before the days of electric refrigerators, ice houses were used to keep food fresh. Ice and snow would be collected over the winter and placed in the building along with some insulation such as straw. This one was built in 1860 and restored in 2000. They were a popular addition to estates in the 19th century.

In a clearing in the forest you will find the Ffrench Family Mausoleum. It was built by Robert Percy Ffrench's daughter Kathleen when he died in 1896. It was constructed using Wicklow granite and above the door is the family motto; "Malo Mori Quam Foedare" meaning, "Death before Dishonour".
