When visiting the center of Lesko, it is impossible to miss the confectioneries run for years by the Szelców family. There are two located near each other, on opposite sides of the Market Square. This one is historically the oldest and the most difficult to find, as it is located in an old corner tenement house, slightly off the beaten path. People used to come here for ice cream and cakes from Lesko, when no one even dreamed that the Słodki Domek Szelców, banquet halls, and a hotel built on the road leading to Sanok (DK84) would ever be established. The current interior of the old confectionery in no way resembles the original. About two years ago, the premises were significantly expanded, combining the former shop and café into one, with entrances leading from different sides of the building. Here you can eat something sweet without waiting in the long queue that forms in season, especially on weekends, at Słodki Domek. If someone arrives by car or motorcycle, the paid parking zone in the center of Lesko does not apply on Saturdays and Sundays. WW

Very interesting to look at and of absolute historical value. However, the entrance is very inconspicuous.

Today we were back at Patiseria Szelców in Lesko. For an early afternoon on a Saturday during peak season, it was fantastic – no lines, and few people inside. I sat down near the pastry display and counted 37 different varieties, not counting the adjacent displays of cakes, doughnuts, tortes, cocktails, and desserts. For a patisserie in southern Podkarpacie, the selection is staggering! The selection of scooped ice cream is much more limited, with only six flavors, but delicious and at 6 złoty per scoop, cheaper than many places in the region. Friendly service, and you can pay by card. Anyone who doesn't like waiting in line at "Słodki Domek" Szelców on the outskirts of Lesko, where the saleswomen can barely keep up with the crowd of sweet tooths, should definitely check it out. 😀 WW

Patiseria (new word to me) according to Wikipedia is a confectionery, a confectionery shop combined with a confectionery factory. Patiseria Szelców in Lesko opened 3 weeks ago. You can enter it from two sides - from the market and from the courtyard. Open: Mon-Fri 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., Saturdays 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Sundays 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Compared to "Słodki Domek Szelców" on the exit road towards Sanok, there are very few people here and sales take place without a queue. The reason may be the lack of parking spaces in the center of Lesko. The saleswoman indirectly confirmed this, saying that the customers are mainly locals. WW

Ruins of the medieval Sobień castle, destroyed in the 15th century by Hungarian troops. According to legend, the castle is haunted by two ladies: a black one and a white one :)

Viewing platform at the end of the short nature trail "Na Góra Sobień". Fantastic view of the San River. In the same place we can visit the ruins of the castle.

The site of the mass execution of 112 prisoners from the Sanok prison on July 5/6, 1940 is located on the right side of the road when traveling from Tarnawa to Huzele. The landmark is the timber yard on the right, where you can park your car without disturbing forest workers. Then walk several dozen meters towards the town of Huzele and turn sharply to the right along a noticeable grassy road.
