Tips from the Community

September 23, 2023, Bridal Veil Falls

Bridal Veil Falls is a beautiful waterfall that roars down a 100-foot rock face, sliding off of granite slabs and tumbling onto the rocks and Bridal Veil Creek down below. There are stairs running along the side that lead up to a small spectating spot. You may want a jacket on windy days as there is quite a lot of mist that can blow over.

You will likely want microspikes in early spring to make it to the lake. The views are stunning, and in summer you can jump in to cool off.

The Heybrook Lookout is located just below the summit of Mount Heybrook and offers truly stunning panoramic views across the town of Index to the world-famous Town Walls and the surrounding rugged, dramatic mountains. There is a picnic area and an 89-step wooden lookout tower that you can climb to the top of and enjoy the views from an even higher vantage point. You can see Mount Persis, Mount Baring, Mount Index, and Bridal Veil Falls from here.
