You need to know that the dirt paths to the bathing spot are miserable and enormously strenuous, especially for cyclists! It's hardly worth the effort. But the ambiance is breathtakingly beautiful and swimming here is a special pleasure! The water gets gradually deeper. Boats pass by again and again. Stand-up paddlers and kayakers are also out and about, who naturally land at this beautiful spot quite often. Nevertheless, even in summer, you can sometimes enjoy total peace and solitude, as I did on 21.8.26. Strictly speaking, there is only the option to get to the bathing spot from Hammelspring, because the connection from the Kannenburger Schleuse is absolutely adventurous. Normally, no one would want to subject themselves to these paths!

An entirely preserved medieval city wall is even something unusual in Germany. Templin therefore clearly stands out, but even more so because of the beautiful lakes nearby. The wall itself is not that impressive, and as a cyclist, you need to know that everywhere along it, bad cobblestones severely limit the enjoyment, and cycling is actually even completely forbidden.

Thanks to the efforts of some Templin residents, the frogs were able to return to their original place on the fountain's rim on April 21, 2021. Created by Berlin stonemason Erik Lüpke, the frogs face all four cardinal directions. Each frog holds a symbol in its hands.
