May 20, 2025, Dimond Canyon - Bridgeview Trailhead

The trailhead immediately drops down a semi-steep path to a creek crossing at the bottom. Crossing the creek can get harder (impossible) if the water level is high.

A relatively well maintained trail, especially popular with locals walking dogs. Take care for stray golf balls coming from the driving range below, I've had a few near misses. The Bridgeview Trail is the best way to link Dimond Canyon to Palos Colorados trail (Joaquin Miller Park) and up into the Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park trail system

The path under the freeway is often in varying states of cleanliness – it's a semi-popular spot with unhoused folk, sometimes fly tippers dump down there, it often smells like its use as a bathroom. ALL of that said, it is a VERY handy cut through between Dimond Canyon and Jaoquin Miller Park, enabling long link ups of trail sections, all the way up to Reinhardt Redwood Regional and beyond

It's just a short crank up Bishop's Walk to reach this viewpoint, which offers amazing vistas out toward Oakland. Don't stop here, though; Bishop's Walk is a great way to access the rest of the fun singletrack in Joaquin Miller Park.

Despite its name, you won't get many views of the Bay here β€” but you will get to enjoy an easy, family-friendly walking trail. Heads up: This trail is also popular with mountain bikers.

The Palos Colorados Trail is a fine singletrack that follows Palo Seco Creek through groves of redwood trees.

The trail along Sausal Creek crosses to the other side of the Canyon and crosses underneath the Leimert Boulevard bridge. A sign at the trailhead warns that the trail under the bridge is closed, but it is open, just protected with scaffolds from potentially falling plaster pieces
