A beautiful, easy-to-walk path along the Dieksee lake... However, it's quite busy here... There are frequent beautiful views of the lake and the islands within it.

From Malente, you'll cruise at a leisurely 15 kilometers per hour along the Schwentine River, which flows through Lake Dieksee from east to west. On the starboard side (that's the right side of the boat), you'll pass by the lido with its charming terrace, supported on pillars, dating back to the 1950s. At the Niederkleveez pier, you'll find more than just the ferry house and its magnificent terrace. With a bit of luck, you'll also get some fresh smoked fish from the Dieksee fishery next door. The journey continues through the picturesque village of Timmdorf to the Plön-Fegetasche pier, where customs officials used to "sweep travelers' pockets."

I passed by there today, October 1, 2025, on my "Dieksee Fish Stall" tour. This beautiful area has been keeping me going for several days. I'm eking out a living at the Vital Klinik Buchenholm.

They have the tastiest fish sandwiches around here. They seem very expensive at the price, but they're easily twice the size of the usual and EXTREMELY delicious!

Beautiful path through predominantly beech forest.

You can paddle here, but also swim well, because the Dieksee is not as shallow as the other lakes.
