Very nice, smooth asphalt on this section. First, the Elbe River comes into view, then a castle on the hill.

From Pardubice to Podebrady: Lots of beautiful sections, but also some that are strenuous and even dangerous! At least 20km of single trail or dirt roads of any quality are more suitable for mountain or gravel bikes. Before Podebrady, crossing the bridge becomes a real adventure, see pictures. I wouldn't want to have to do something like that when it's wet.

A former military bridge that was built with UNRRA funds (simplified - from surplus military stock of the allies). In 1946, the structure was brought to Kunětice and assembled in 1947. The bridge was put into operation in February 1948. To this day, this interesting technical structure serves normal road traffic, traffic is controlled by traffic lights.
