Ferry: By Water to Drottningholm Palace A scenic alternative is the ferry. From April to October, you can take a ferry directly to the palace from Stadshuskajen (near the town hall). The journey across Lake Mälaren offers breathtaking views and takes about an hour. The Drottningholm Palace pier is just 200 meters from the palace.
