The Canaan Street Historic District is basically a linear district that goes roughly from Prospect Hill Road in the north to Moss Flower Lane in the south. Most of the houses in this district date from the Greek Revival and Federal periods. They include quite a large number of civic buildings, including the former town hall, which is now the Canaan Historical Museum, and many of the residential buildings in the area, as they display either Federal or Greek Revival styling. The buildings are simply beautiful.

This state park is a nice spot for swimming, fishing, and non-motorized boating. There are some nice walking and running trails in the park, too. Entrance costs a day use fee of $5, with discounts for children and free entrance for those 65 and older, as long as you have a valid New Hampshire ID.

A picturesque lake you will find along the trail and close to the town of Enfield. The lake feeds into the Mascoma River, which is a smaller river that flows into the Connecticut River. When winter comes, the lake freezes, creating a safe surface to walk on. Many people enjoy ice fishing here.
