This is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful climbs in the region. It's 20 kilometers long at an average gradient of 5.7%. The views are spectacular, and the road surface is excellent until the last stretch, after the military barrier, where it gets a little rougher.

Even though the summit of Espuña is a military restricted area and you can't plan the climb in Komoot, you can (and should) drive almost all the way up to the summit - it's worth it. In winter it can get very cold - it's the north side without any sun!

A great road north of Casas Nuevas. South of there is very little asphalt between all the holes. It's really no fun to drive! Be sure to check out the section highlights and trail view pictures!

Quite tight serpentines in the forest on mostly good asphalt.

Road newly made in 2022 with good asphalt. Very nice route!

Very bad asphalt in the west, acceptable in the east. If you want to take the pass through the Sierra Espuña, it is better to take the "parallel" roads to the north or south to/from the RM-515, this one is in the worst condition (2024).
