In 1976 a meeting was held between Sallanches and Saint-Martin for the development of Lac des Ilettes. This area located in the territory of Sallanches but bordering on the commune of Saint-Martin could only be developed by a joint agreement of the two communes.
In 1977, the development of Les Ilettes helped with the merger of St Martin and Sallanches.
For the construction of the future white highway, this area will be reserved for the extraction of materials.
Two other large lakes will be exposed and subsequently developed into tourist sites.

The Lac des Confins is pleasant in all seasons. The tour of the lake is accessible to all levels, and it is also the start of many hikes. There are a few restaurants nearby where you can eat.

The lake is very beautiful and there are enough places to sit and eat. The view of the surrounding area is also beautiful. However, there are no nice hiking trails nearby as it is a ski resort
