Located in the center of Halten, a visit to the Wasseramt Museum is worthwhile for many reasons. Surrounding the 13th-century tower are several historic granaries, presenting various themes in a permanent exhibition. For example, it shows how people stored food without refrigerators and how they handled their belongings with care. Opening hours are as follows: Sundays from May 18 to September 28, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Closed during the summer holidays from July 7 to August 10, 2025. The Emme has been extensively renaturalized. A lot has been done from a dreary, straight river from Emmenspitz (Luterbach) to almost Burgdorf. The riverbed has been widened, trees have been cleared, space has been created. It is well worth cycling along it!!
