A beautiful view of this important medieval city with two cathedrals. The climb by bike was not so bad.

The Saint-Lizier Cathedral is located in the center of the small town. It is one of the two significant churches in the place. Next to it, there is a cloister. There was a separate community of canons. Later, only the cathedral „Notre Dame de Sede“ in the upper town, in the bishop's palace, was considered the cathedral. As the name suggests, it was also the actual episcopal see. The Madonna is particularly beautiful. There is a light switch on the right side.

With its emerald green color and wooded shores, it is a popular destination for walks, picnics, and nature observation. A circular trail about 8 km long leads around the lake and is well-suited for a leisurely hike. Fishing is permitted (with a valid fishing license). However, swimming has been prohibited since 2023. There are parking spaces on site and a snack bar during the season.

A magnificent spot with the road winding under the rock, running alongside a partially underground stream. It's both breathtaking and peaceful. Plus, there's a starting point for a short walk; I did the beginning and it was lovely: I'd love to come back and do a longer section!
