Der Rundweg führt uns zunächst in Richtung Süden durch die historische Altstadt von Rothenburg, zur Rossmühle und dem Spitalhof. Außerhalb der Stadt geht es hinab ins Tauber und Schandtaubertal. Wir folgen dem Rothenburger Taubermühlenweg bis kurz vor Dettwang , vorbei an insgesamt 15 Mühlen. Zurück, an der Bronnenmühle vorbei, geht es wieder hinauf zu Stadt.
