This fine approach from Little Stretton to the east of the Mynd takes you to Pole Bank, the highest summit of the range. A grassy hill track climbs out of Small Batch onto the high slopes of Callow, giving superb retrospective views of Little Stretton, Ragleth Hill and the deep gorge of Callow Hollow. Crossing to the other side of the ridge you can look down the rocky Ashes Hollow before arriving on the main ridge. After taking in wide vistas from the summit the route heads back east and onto Long Mynd's rockiest summit, that of Devil's Mouth, before descending to the busy little market town of Church Stretton. From here devious low hillside and woodland paths take you back to the start.
