This tour takes you through the Wienerwald in the west of Vienna. A good mix of steep climbs and lonely forest roads awaits you over almost 50 kilometers. The reward for the vertical meters is the chance for a great view of Vienna.
Although the tour practically starts in the middle of the city, you dive into the cool forest after just a few kilometers. I created the route so that you spend as little time as possible on the busy roads in the outskirts of Vienna. Instead, you can enjoy nature, because the Vienna Woods have a lot to offer.
The Sophienalpe, which you reach after about 40 kilometers, is particularly worth mentioning on this tour. There you will find a recommendable inn and, above all, a wonderful panorama over western Vienna. After enjoying the view, you can look forward to a long descent, because from here it's all downhill back to Vienna.
The start and end point of the round is at Hütteldorf train station. You can easily reach it with the underground line U4, regional trains of the ÖBB or the S-Bahn lines S45 and S80. If you want to come here by bike, we recommend taking the bike path along the Wien river.
