This lower valley tour is quite accessible and could be described as "entry level." However, we urge you not to underestimate it: it's Alpine Gravel after all!
The route winds halfway along the beautiful Val di Sole cycle path and the other half almost entirely off-road, through woods and small mountain villages.
Start from the Mezzana station, easily accessible by BikeTrain and BikeBus during the summer. Check the schedules and routes here: https://www.valdisolebikeland.com/it/valdisolebikeland/plan-go/bike-train-bikebus
Ride the cycle path to Ossana and its castle. From there, an adventurous descent on dirt roads through small, picturesque villages begins.
The climb from Daolasa, passing through Costa Rotian, offers wonderful views of the lower Val di Sole. The flow trail in the Meledrio Valley is a nice reminder of what awaits you along the other Alpine Gravel trails in the Val di Sole.
From Dimaro, continue east through the woods on a forest road with some bumps and some ups and downs. At Cavizzana, the lowest point of the Tour, rejoin the Val di Sole bike path.
The climb up the valley on the flowing bike path with views of the Presanella can be an excellent opportunity to relax your legs. Or, why not, make a final sprint back to the starting point.
