Back out around local roads again. The roadie felt very weird after 2300 miles on the gravel bike, but the hills did feel a lot easier than last time I did this route!
1/3 tootle with a mate. 1/3 TT smash. 1/3 HR SS spin. 10 very chilly toes as it hit 2 degrees in Peebles. 1 epic haggis & egg butty at the Peel.
It was so lovely to ride the roads I used to ride as a youngster. Passed one of my old houses and a few folk I knew. We got held up at the golf course bridge due to the fire brigade being out at hill fires and the helicopters were carrying water to dowse the fires. Had a nice wee chat with one of the guys from Eldon Velo while waiting. After temple it got quite tough due to the headwind also I didn’t remember this road and the Meldons road being so hilly. Had a wee game of piggy coming back from Temple and got chatting to the guy who was off and on my wheel he originally comes from Kilmarnock. He did have the curtesy to ask if I minded and we took turns. The event was very well run and signed etc. A really enjoyable day. -- myWindsock Report -- Feels Like Elev: 1030m Weather Impact: 3.3% Headwind: 51% @ 12.1-23mph Longest Headwind: 01h 16m 54s Air Speed: 15.4mph Temp: 17.9-21.8°C Precip: 1% @ 0.01 Inch/hr -- END --
