On the river's edge of this wooded island is a 13 bedroom mansion. It was left abandoned for 10 years until it was bought for £3m in 2021 so is about to enter into its next phase of life.

The island was called Folly Eyot until it was bought by Richard D'Oyly Carte in 1890. He had intended to open it as the 'Savoy on Thames', he also owned the Savoy in London, but was refused a liquor license.
