Frangarto Bike Grill

Highlight • Cafe

Great laid out and easy to reach by road bike, located directly on the railway bike path. The apple strudel is great, the innkeepers are nice and the prices are moderate. Thumbs up!

St. Paul's has such a majestic parish church that it seems to dominate the entire landscape and villagescape. This "cathedral in the countryside" was meant to speak of wealth and power, as as early as the 12th century, St. Paul's was the richest parish in South Tyrol and the original parish of the Oltradige region. In the 15th century, the village rose to become the capital of the municipality of Eppan. Construction of the present church began around 1460 and was only completed in 1647 with the addition of the church tower with its Baroque onion dome. It rises an impressive 85 meters into the sky. Its architectural and artistic details make the parish church one of the most important religious buildings in South Tyrol!

On the way from Bolzano towards Lana and Meran with a wonderful view over the Adige Valley with its apple orchards. The path to the left of the Adige is mostly in the shade until noon and can therefore be driven well even in warmer temperatures!

Adige Cycle Path near Bolzano

Highlight • Cycleway

The cycle path is very beautiful and it is very idyllic to cycle past the many apple trees between the mountains. It's great to get to Meran. Great that there is this bike path.
In the dark, however, it is unfortunately not illuminated, which is not a problem if you have good light yourself. However, I would not recommend driving here without light or with only sparse light, as it goes downhill right next to the cycle path, which means that there is a risk of accidents in poor visibility.

So be sure to think of lights if it is possible to be on the road longer and only drive back when it is dark!
