Hiking

Embark on an easy 3.0-mile (4.9 km) hike through the hills above Turin, gaining 530 feet (161 metres) of elevation in about 1 hour and 27 minutes. This ring tour takes you through the lush greenery of Parco San Vito and Parco della Rimembranza, offering diverse terrain from paved sections to compact dirt and gravel paths. As you ascend, you will enjoy beautiful panoramic views of Turin and the surrounding countryside, with the Susa Valley and the Gran Paradiso group visible from higher points.

While the trail is generally considered easy and suitable for most, some sections, especially towards the Faro della Vittoria, can be steep. You should wear trail running or hiking shoes with good grip, and consider using poles for assistance on descents. The route is easily accessible and provides a pleasant outdoor experience without requiring extensive planning or specialized gear beyond appropriate footwear.

The highlight of this hike is the colossal Faro della Vittoria, or Victory Lighthouse, perched atop the Memorial Park near Colle della Maddalena. This monument, dedicated to the Winged Victory, features an 18.50-meter high bronze statue that lights up and rotates 360 degrees at night. You will also pass through Parco della Rimembranza, a significant arboretum inaugurated in 1925 to commemorate the 4,787 fallen soldiers from Turin in World War I, with each tree representing a soldier.
