Don't be fooled by the short distance of the Tour: the positive difference in altitude of almost 1,400 metres, compared to the length of 35 kilometres, is mind-boggling! Engage a soft gear, don't get discouraged and start pedaling.

Also to dampen the intense climbs, the route is quite rich in points of interest and able to capture the attention. You can safely stop, admire the landscape, take some pictures and then get back on the saddle.

As already anticipated, the departure is uphill. Leaving the town of Bovegno, you soon stop in one of its most beautiful hamlets, Ludizzo, a small and characteristic Valtrumplino village.

Shortly after, immerse yourself in the dense vegetation and pedal along an ancient dirt link, which allows you to gain altitude gently. Then you reach the paved road which, from the small town of Irma, leads to Vezzale and then to the foot of Mount Visigno.

Having conquered the 1,400 meters of altitude in just 13 kilometres, it is time to enjoy a fantastic up and down through the most spectacular mountain pastures and roads of the Trompia Valley. At a short distance from each other, five alpine pastures await you: Pian del Bene di sopra and di sotto, Campo di Nasso, Confine and Garotta.

After this crossing, completing an "eight" around the Ario and Visigno mountains, it's time to enjoy the last part of the Tour, which is also the most adrenaline-pumping: the descent from the famous Miners' Trail.

The route can be covered with any type of mountain bike. The last section has some technical passages for which a full-suspension bicycle is more suitable (if you have a front, don't give up, tackle the more technical downhill sections by getting off the saddle).

The old connection between Ludizzo and Irma

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Connection immersed in the vegetation, excellent for avoiding asphalt. Suitable for mountain bikes of all kinds (gravel for the brave).

Attention! In some periods of the year, there is a risk of finding foliage and shrubs that slow down the pace.

Malga Croce Bivouac

Highlight • Mountain Hut

Bivouac located between the buildings of the homonymous mountain hut, in the flat pastures of Pian del Bene, at the foot of the western slope of Monte Ario and with a beautiful view of Monte Guglielmo. Beautiful place even in winter for snowshoe tours.

Miners' Trail

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Very famous path in the upper Trompia Valley. It has this name because in ancient times the road was used for the transport of iron which, extracted from the mines of the area (still visible), was then transported towards Valle Sabbia.

The descent is magnificent, but of considerable technical difficulty. For those gifted with a good ride, it's doable on any mountain bike, except for a small technical step at the start. In any case, the most recommended bicycle to deal with it in the best way is a full suspension one.
