Werchow is the gateway to Calauer Switzerland. In no time you are past the Goldborn and through hell, up to the plateau and to the brick tower.

But it's worth pausing here and there: spotting a golden carriage between the iron ocher clouds in Goldborn ;-), taking a look at Calau from the Kuhringsberg, snacking on a few blueberries...

Climbing the Luckaitztal brick tower is a must: After 219 steps there is a wide all-round view of the treetops.

In Weißag you can eat buckwheat pancakes on Sunday afternoons, but: Before the tour, find out whether the inn is actually open and let us know if you want to eat pancakes (the yeast pastries need time to rise)! Gaumers Inn: Tel. 03541 2050

On the way back, it's worth stopping at the Napoleonstein (maybe you'll find the treasure?) and a detour to the Lugteich pond, with luck you'll meet a grass snake or kingfisher.

This beautiful Kerbtal (red marking) is called "Hell" and is really fun to walk through: unspoilt, narrow and dark, almost a bit mystical. The only drawback: too short. At the lower exit there is an interesting information board that explains the ecological importance and the previous year's renaturation measures and points out the rarity of this valley shape in the region. The best thing to do is walk down here from the Kuhringsberg, where you can go straight down to hell at the junction. If you have any concerns, just send a candidate up and see how they fare below. Luckaitztal Brick Tower

The wooden predecessor, which opened in 1999, was already a popular destination for tourist hikes in Calauer Schweiz and a well-known landmark of the surrounding "Plinsdörfer". After an on-site inspection in September 2014 by representatives from the municipality of Luckaitztal, the Altdöbern office and the town of Calau, the decision was made to build an identical tower, with appropriate local adaptations of the project, as a replacement building in Calauer Schweiz.
