Hiking

By boat, you can reach the St. Bartholomä peninsula from the Seelände on Königssee. There, you begin the circular route, past the St. Bartholomä pilgrimage church, continuing to the National Park Information Centre (accessible toilet) on a flat path directly to the wildlife feeding area (winter only). Behind this, the path turns right for about 100 metres, which you follow to Königssee. There, turn right again and walk along the lake shore (rest benches) back to the boat landing stage.
The walking time is approx. 1 hour (depending on the person).

St. Bartholomew Pilgrimage Church, Königssee

Highlight • Religious Site

The small pilgrimage church and the Königssee are inseparable. On summer weekends countless tourists stream through the tiny village to visit the church in front of this phenomenal panorama and take photos. If the hustle and bustle is too much for you, you can just start right on your hike in the surrounding mountains.

We wanted to leave it there, although we were already on our way, but it was very beautiful there.

🐟 After returning from Salet, we made a culinary stop at the small fish smokehouse – fresh smoked fish with a view of the lake: highly recommended! 😋

A lovely little circular walk mostly through the forest.

The start and finish was the beautiful church of St. Bartholomä, which you can see from the boat.

The boat trip only takes 30 minutes compared to the trip to Salet.

The hike can be extended as desired...e.g. to the ice chapel.

After the ride with the Jennerbahn, we continued to Königssee. It was absolutely packed, but after about 30 minutes I was on the boat towards St. Bartholomä. Since I was quite late, I only did the 30-minute loop trail and then went a little bit south at the end. In the end, I sat in the beer garden until the …
