Cat's Leap

Highlight • Climb

One of the most "challenging" passages of the Senigalia ridge. It is not an exposed passage but you must still pay attention especially in the presence of snow and ice. Also well equipped with metal rungs and steps carved into the rock.

The Southern Grigna (but known to most as Grignetta) with its 2,184 meters above sea level is one of the main mountains in Lecco.

Together with Grignone (Grigna Settentrionale) it constitutes the Grigne group, which divides Lake Como from Valsassina, in the province of Lecco.

These mountains are characterized by a multitude of environments, from meadows to rocky walls. It is no coincidence that the famous mountaineer Riccardo Cassin said that "the Grigna is not a peak but a world". The Grigne are therefore crossed by itineraries of varying difficulty: from simple trekking to challenging mountaineering routes.

Cermenati Ridge Trail

Highlight • Trail

This is the simplest option to reach the summit of Grigna Meridionale (or Grignetta, for friends).

Although this is the least demanding route, the path - although not particularly difficult - has decidedly steep aided sections on rock which require good familiarity in a mountain environment.

All in all, a short excursion, but definitely tough in terms of slope: 5 km long and 800 meters of altitude difference. It is therefore completely normal that all the paths of this tour were for EE, with some short and easy climbs and even a few hundred meters equipped with ropes or chains (without the need for a via …

From the Resinelli plains, the route ascends along a technically simple route, except for the final, equipped section from the cat's jump onward, where you'll need to use your hands for small climbs. A harness is recommended for those who aren't comfortable with exposed sections. The final section is the start of the high traverse of the Grigne, just before …
