Radstadt Rossbrand loop – MTB in the Salzburger Sportwelt

The Rossbrand is considered one of the most beautiful vantage points in the region. At the summit cross at 1,770 meters you have an impressive panoramic view of at least 150 peaks in the Eastern Alps. The Radstädter Hütte is in the immediate vicinity. The beautiful stop is a worthwhile destination to strengthen yourself after the summit tour.

From Radstadt you can take the Rossbrandstraße directly to the summit. The route mainly runs through the beautiful coniferous forest, but always offers beautiful views when you pass farms and alpine pastures. From about 1,700 meters you have an almost unobstructed view of the Tauern and the Ennstal in the south. As soon as you have reached the highest point on the gentle ridge and the summit cross, an impressive panoramic view awaits you in all directions.

After a leisurely stop at the newly built Radstädter Hütte, the descent is rapid. Immediately after the hiking car park on Rossbrandstraße, keep left and after a short time you will reach the small, hospitable Steinalm, which will impress you with many homemade delicacies and a great view. After that, only a few short ascents await you and you are back in the Ennstal and at the starting point of your panoramic tour.

Tip: watch out for early risers. There is nothing better than seeing the summit at sunrise. If you don't want to drive in the dark, you can rent the self-catering hut of Naturfreunde am Rossbrand with friends or stay in the brand new Radstädter Hütte with all the amenities of a hotel.
